Youth Ski League (YSL)

Skiers 5-11 years of age improve their skiing through regular race training, directed free-skiing on all of Schweitzer’s trails and terrain, and by attending competitions throughout the Inland Northwest.

Athletes ski every Saturday throughout the season, focusing on skill acquisition through race training and directed free-skiing with their coaches.

Development 1-day athletes will compete in the SARS Home Series races and may also choose to compete at the Emerald Empire (EEYSL) youth race hosted by SARS . 1-day athletes are not expected to travel to competitions at other venues besides Schweitzer. If you are interested in your child competing in regional races, please sign up for the Competition 2-day or 3-day programs.

The two-day skiers are challenging themselves through skiing expert terrain in all conditions while also learning race specific techniques and tactics.

Competition 2-day athletes will participate in the three Home Series races as well as the three EEYSL races, which this year will take place at Schweitzer, Mount Spokane, and Lookout Pass.

Note: Comp Team tuition includes a travel fee to cover coaches’ transportation and expenses for EEYSL races.
