Being aware of this I will strive to arrive on time and prepared mentally and physically for every SARS team function. Once with the team I pledge to give my best effort with a positive and determined attitude and to support my teammates in giving their best positive effort. I will bring appropriate clothing and equipment for every function and will do my best to set myself up to succeed by arriving fully prepared to meet the demands of the day. SARS team members are expected to conduct themselves in a sportsmanlike manner and are responsible for their actions in training, going to and from competitions, at competitions, while at areas hosting training and/or competitions, and during fund raising and other non-skiing club functions. SARS members are, at all times, to display the utmost respect for themselves and others; including teammates, fellow competitors, competition officials, ski area employees, ski patrol personnel and the skiing and snowboarding public. SARS members are to show courtesy and good manners, responsible behavior, mature conduct, respect for property and facilities, privileges and operating procedures, and respect for closed areas. SARS members are to abstain from illegal use or possession of alcohol, drugs and/or tobacco, and from using profane or abusive language. SARS members are also expected to respect and abide by project specific rules set by coaches while traveling with SARS, PNSA, Western Region, US Ski Team or any other entity. All of this is in accordance with the United States Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) Code of Conduct. I understand that violation of SARS rules and expectations set forth here or by SARS staff and volunteers can result in disciplinary action. Our normal course of action is to provide a verbal warning, followed with a written warning for subsequent violations. The written warning may detail sanctions for future violations. These sanctions can include suspensions and/or expulsions with no refund of fees. Risks include, but are not limited to, risk of injury or death from changes in terrain and snow surface (above and below the surface), slips, falls, exposure to cold, ice, bumps, jumps, bare spots, debris, fences, decks, posts, trees, any movement of snow including, but not limited to, slides, sloughs or avalanches; any depths of snow, including tree wells, or any accumulations of snow, whether natural or man-made, including snowmaking mounds, moving snow, lift equipment and towers, light poles, signs, buildings, and walkways, ramps, padded and non-padded barriers, obstacles and other terrain features, grooming equipment, snowmobiles, ski and snowboard traffic and other hazards are HAZARDOUS activities and that I have made a voluntary choice to participate in those activities despite the risks that they present.
